2016 Finale

2016 has been a tough year on our artist pool. When I say artists this encompasses anyone I believe with the ability to grab a piece of love for the things they loved to do. Many talents. 

Their spirits are still with us, through those talents in whatever form that was spewed from their earthly vessel, from thier soul. Whew! I don't know where that came from but...you know. We'll miss many.

Bye Bye But Not Forgotten

2016 has been a process for me. I have learned a bit more about one of my current loves--photography. I graduated from canvas image transfers and greeting cards to metal art. The metal art is also a form of image transfer. An image is processed onto a sheet of aluminum. I currently have them made for me by specifying the effect I'm going for, ie sheer, glossy, transparent, etc. My favorite is sheer matte finish. I experimented with different companies by using Groupon coupons and was able to find the look I wanted. All of my image transfers are currently on display and for sale at a Home Decor Store in Geyserville California. 

Here's one of my favorites "Prius Killer" a 10x10 on the sheer matte I referred to. The sheer lends a look of metal through the image that I, for no better word, adore.

I've sold a few of the Metal Art so far. The canvas transfers that I process at home have sold pretty well. I'm able to keep the price down on the canvas art because I don't factor in the time, wages for my labor, but it's not really labor so I don't have to charge. It's something I love to do. If someone takes enough pleasure in it to buy it then I feel it's more like sharing. Do what you love, love what you do. That's my goal, well always my goal, more like my theme for 2017. It's going to be the best yet because it has already started. 2016 is winding down and 2017 is revving up. Everyday is the best day of my life. Cheers to the new year!
